Terms & Conditions
Membership Conditions
Your participation in courses, social activities and free activities organized by Social Life Pty Ltd (hereafter called Social Life) is conditional upon you agreeing to the following terms and conditions which will ultimately make your membership a safe and enjoyable experience.
The following are the binding terms and conditions of the agreement between you and Social Life:
- Social Life is for adults only, you must be at least 18 years old. Persons under 18 years of age are ineligible.
- Members of Social Life must at all times behave with propriety and be considerate and respectful of the needs of staff, other members and guests.
- Social Life Pty Ltd does not hold a liquor licence and allows only light drinking on the premises. Whilst Social Life will serve alcohol responsibly, the company accepts no responsibility or liability whatsoever for any harm or injury caused to members or property as a result of alcoholic intoxication or the taking of illegal substances at a Social Life event. Social Life reserves the right to eject any person from any event or activity if their behaviour indicates any evidence of alcoholic intoxication or the taking of illegal substances.
Fees, Pricing, Cancellation and Refunds of Courses and Events
- Membership is attained by the payment of a once off joining fee entitling full lifetime membership of the club, plus participation in one short course and one event credit to the value of $30. The joining fee does not cover additional events or any expenses incurred by members at events or courses like drinks, food or travel.
- Social Life is under no obligation to refund money to any member or member's guest for payments for courses or events which they fail to attend for any reason.
- Social Life reserves the right to cancel or rearrange events. In the unlikely event of this happening full refunds will be made to those members and their guests who have already paid.
Course Cancellation
- Social Life will not run courses where less than 10 members have enrolled on the day prior to course commencement. When this occurs members who have already signed with a course will be given options to join other courses, plus an additional free event. Where Social Life and the member cannot reach agreement on a substitute course the membership fee will be refunded.
Member's Guests
- Members are entitled to invite guests to events, however, members are fully responsible for the behaviour of their guests, and must alert them to these terms and conditions.
Termination of Membership
- Social Life reserves the right to terminate, without reason or notice, your membership if it considers in its opinion any member is involved in illegal activities under State and/or Federal laws. In such a case the relevant law enforcement agencies will be notified and all relevant information provided to them.
- Social Life reserves the right to terminate, at its sole discretion, without reason or notice, the membership of any member who in its reasonable judgement has breached any of the club's terms and conditions.
- These terms and conditions include any behaviour displayed by members towards other persons which is deemed to negatively impact the enjoyment of Social Life for staff, other members or member's guests. Specific behaviours considered grounds for termination include, but are not limited to; any accusation of impropriety, harassment or intimidation, defamatory statements, menacing, offensive or reckless behaviour or misrepresentation of personal circumstances. As a member you must not commit any of these acts or allow another person to display any of these behaviours.
Liability
- Social Life is an active social club and relies on member's judgment to make sure that you are fit enough and have the necessary skills to take part in any of our activities. Social Life accepts no responsibility or liability whatsoever in respect of any member or guest. Members and guests must accept that all Social Life courses, events and activities are done at member's own risk and Social Life accepts no responsibility nor will it be liable to you or you guest for any direct, incidental, consequential or indirect damages that may be sustained by you or your guest in participating in any of Social Life's activities.
- Social Life is under no obligation to make insurance arrangements for members or their guests in respect to any activities in which members partake, nor will we.
- Social Life accepts no responsibility nor it ist liable for resolving any personal dispute between members and / or guests.
Marketing
- Photographic images taken of members at Social Life courses and functions remain the property of Social Life and may be used for marketing purposes on our website or in publicity or printed material. If a member has a strong objection to their image being used their view will be taken into consideration.
Communication
- Social Life will send regular email correspondence to members, trial members and guests of members in accordance with our privacy policy
Rights of Membership
- Social Life offers memberships to appropriate persons and as such reserves the right to refuse membership to any person who it is deemed may be detrimental to the Social Life brand, business, community perceptions or the quiet enjoyment of the club by other members. No reason needs to be given for refusal of membership
- Prior to agreeing to these terms and conditions, members are encouraged to obtain independent legal advice
