Members Event - Cole Porter's High Society at Willoughby Musical Society

Date:    Saturday May 13, 2006

Time:    Meet at 6.00pm.  Show starts at 8.00pm

Venue:  Meeting venue is the Monkey Bar Chatswood.  Corner Orchard Road and Help Street adjacent toDick Smith Powerhouse.  4 hours free parking in Car Park entered from Endeavour Street (must enter from the top of this street).

Member Kirstie Ross is part of the Willoughby Musical Society's latest production, the Cole Porter classic "High Society".  Based on the same story as "The Philedelphia Story", the musical portrays the lifestyle of the rich with a good dose of wit and humour. 

It features some of Cole Porter's best known songs like "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?", "What a Swell Party This Is", "I love Paris", Just one of those Things" and "High Society".

If you would like to attend, you will be meeting Sophie Hill at 6.00pm at the Monkey Bar for a drink and light dinner before heading to the theatre around 7.30pm. (further directions will be provided).  Soph will collect the money from everyone and buy a block of tickets around 6.30pm. If you are late you may be able to attend the show, but not sit with the group.

Price for Social Life Members: $33 per ticket payable on the night

Social Life Poker Club

Date: Tuesday May 16, 2006 (then fortnightly on 2nd and 4th Tuesdays each month)

Time:   7:00pm for dinner

Venue:  Social Life Premises (How to find us)

Texas Hold'Em has been extremely popular at Social Life since our inception.  As there are so many graduates of poker school we have decided to start a regular fortnightly game for all our poker devotees. 

Poker Club is for Social Life members and graduates of Poker School

Price for a light dinner and poker:  $10 per week

Optional small contribution to prize pool

Please let us know if you would like to join the poker group - some experience with Texas Hold 'Em is a pre requisite.

AFL Round 8 - Sydney Swans vs Western Bulldogs

Date:    Saturday May 20, 2006 (night game)

Time:    Meet at 6.00pm sharp to buy tickets

Venue:  Sydney Cricket Ground (public transport recommended) Group will meet under the "Players Entry" sign at 6pm and go to buy general admission tickets as soon as the group is assembled

Join our gang at the next Swans home game against the high flying Bulldogs.  The teams are well matched - this is always a hard fought contest.  If you've never been to an AFL game before there are enough experts (?) at Social Life to teach you the rules of the game - just dig out some red and white and be prepared to yell, clap and generally get involved in one of the great Sydney crowd events.  All welcome

Price:  $25 general admission to Concourse seating

Member's Event - Powerhouse Museum - On the Box Exhibition

Australian Television is 50 years old - what is there to celebrate?  Plenty!  Join Rod Halliday to tour this new exhibition at the fabulous Powerhouse Museum on the west side of Darling Harbour.   (You can look around the rest of the museum too, it is one of Sydney's most highly rated attractions)

Rod has also threatened to lead a posse for a drink afterwards at a nearby pub.

Winter Wonderland Party - Social Life's First Birthday!

They said we'd never make it!  Social Life celebrates our first anniversary in the first week of June.   Come and celebrate what an amazing group of people we've become at our Winter Wonderland party. 

Our band, Got it Covered with Jordan and Simon will be playing, plus we'll have finger food available and plenty of great company.  The night is BYO alcohol and all those who wish to celebrate with us will be very welcome.

Member's Price:  Free!  (Members, please come and help us celebrate)
